Practical visit of Earth Engineering students from the School of Mining Engineering (EPSEM) and the School of Public Works Superintendents.
On 10/11/23 we were visited at the XAUXA mine by students of the Degree in Mineral Resources Engineering and Recycling, the Master's Degree in Mining Engineering of the UPC Manresa and the Escola de Sobrestants d'Obres Públiques.
Our Faculty Director, Luis Jesús García-Muñoz Miras, was the host in charge of teaching and explaining the characteristics of the mine, the extractive process and the sustainable performance of the activity.
During the visit, the students carried out a practical exercise led by the geologist David Parcerisa, to recognise the rock mass to characterise it geotechnically and subsequently define the most appropriate support systems.
It was a pleasure to collaborate with the teaching activities by sharing our experience and our geological and mining heritage.
