At the XAUXA mine of AYMAR SAU we put into service the second CAT 323L IHC hydraulic rotary excavator, following up on the machinery renewal plan.
The excavator is incorporated into the work of mechanical sanitation of galleries, earthworks, as well as for cleaning and conditioning of galleries.
With this second addition, the planned objectives of following are met:
1. Improved visibility and reduced ergonomic risks:
- 30° tilting cab improves operator visibility during roof sanitation operations. This, in turn, reduces the risk of overexertion by avoiding awkward and restricted postures for extended periods of work.
2. Reducing emissions and improving air quality:
- Improved exhaust gas quality and reduced diesel particulate matter compared to previous equipment. The new machine meets EU Stage V emission standards, with a post-treatment system that requires no maintenance or downtime.
3. Protection of the worker against respirable fraction of dust, crystalline silica, diesel particulates, and diesel and blasting emissions.
- Fully enclosed cabin with air conditioning, with RESPA air quality system for cabins, cabin pressurization with filter for toxic gases and particles ABEK P3 HEPA H13.
4. Increased security in the presence of people in nearby areas:
- Cameras in the radius of action, rear and side view, to eliminate blind spots and, consequently, increase safety in the presence of people in nearby areas.
These strategic objectives align with our ongoing commitment to safety and operational efficiency at the Xauxa mine. The implementation of these changes not only safeguards the integrity of our staff, but also contributes to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly work environment.
