Practical visit of Geology students from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona

As every year, on 16/11/23, we received a visit to the Xauxa mine from 3rd and 4th year Geology students from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, with the aim of studying the outcrops where calcosilicates and sulphides appear in contact with the marbles, as a field practice for the recognition of minerals and structures.

During the course of the practical, our Faculty Director, Luis Jesús García-Muñoz Miras, explained the repercussions of these outcrops in the mine, and the fundamental role of the mining geologist in exploration, research and mining exploitation.

It is always a pleasure, a privilege and a source of pride to collaborate in the training of future professionals in the mining sector.
