Progress on the objectives for sustainable development

The decisions we take now mark our future. That's why AYMAR S.A.U. is already using renewable energy. Currently, 100% of the electricity we consume in our installations is of renewable origin with the CNMC certificate of assurance of origin.

By taking a step towards reducing CO2 emissions and actively combating climate change, in this year 2022 we have installed on our St. Celoni plant 1,800 m2 of photovoltaic plates that will produce 506,971 kWh in the first year, contributing 15% electric power compared to the total consumption of the plant.

With this photovoltaic energy facility we are eliminating the impacts due to transport and infrastructure from power lines, and increasing efficiency by reducing energy losses: energy is produced and consumed in the same place. Electric power generation directly from the sun does not require any combustion, so there is no thermal pollution or CO2 emissions that favour the greenhouse effect.

It is certainly a very important step in the aim of building a sustainable, productive and human enterprise on the basis of our environmental management system and in line with our objectives.

Using photovoltaic solar energy we contribute to the following 2030 Agenda sustainable development objectives:

Affordable and non-polluting energy
Action for climate
Sustainable Cities and Communities
Responsible production and consumption

Our objective is to achieve 50% of our consumption of electricity from self-consumption through photovoltaic solar energy by 2030.
