New EPIROC E10S-DH jumbo drilling rig to increase productivity and safety in drilling work.
The function of the equipment is the drilling of holes in the different work fronts, necessary for blasting, both for the removal of material and for the construction of circulation and service galleries.
The new equipment contributes to the health and safety of mine workers with respect to:
- the quality of the exhaust gases, thanks to the latest generation STAGE V engine that complies with current emissions legislation. It incorporates AdBlue, particulate filters.
- lower levels of noise emitted into the environment.
- the automatic detection system of people within the machine's radius of action, warning the operator of the presence of these people, improving safety due to the presence of blind spots.
- the airtightness and insulation of the operator's cab, with air conditioning and HEPA air filter system, preventing dust and diesel fumes from entering the cab, as well as reducing the noise level that reaches the operator in the cab, 65 dB (A).
- ROPS (Roll Over Protective Structures) and FOPS (Falling Object Protective Structures), which protect workers both in the event of rollover and falling objects on the machines.
The acquisition of this equipment has been financed by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge within the framework of aid for risk prevention and mining safety in the field of indigenous and sustainable mining, regulated by Order TED/1079/2020 of November 11, 2020, Resolution of November 21, 2022, under file SMI 221/23.
